안녕하세요, 데이터 시각화 밋업 ‘보다(BODA)’를 소개합니다. ‘보다(BODA)’는 데이터 시각화 분야에 종사하거나, 데이터 시각화에 관심이 있는 사람들의 네트워크를 위해 2022년 여름에 결성된 밋업입니다.
밋업의 이름인 ‘보다(BODA)’는 ‘데이터(Data)를 본다‘는 의미에서 지어졌는데요, 그만큼이나 데이터의 세계를 깊게 들여다’보고’, ‘보여주는’ 것에 진심인 구성원들이 모였습니다.

발표 주제 The power of physical immersion
연사 소개 Pablo Robles is a visual journalist currently working as a visual editor with the New York Times International. In this role, he utilizes code, graphics, maps, and data visualization to present news. He has previously worked as a graphic journalist for Bloomberg and as a senior infographic designer at the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, where he led the production of digital graphics.
His work has been recognized with over 140 different awards, including honors from the Malofiej Infographic World Summit, Webby Awards, Sigma Delta Chi Awards, SOPA Awards, Online Journalism Awards, WAN-IFRA, Information is Beautiful Awards, Society of News Design (SND), Data Journalism Awards, Hong Kong News Awards, the Global Editors Network Awards and many others. Some of his work can be found in books from Japan, United States and Spain alongside a few exhibitions for private galleries in Europe.

발표 주제 디지털 환경에서 리얼리즘을 추구하는 데이터 시각화는 2005년 Yahoo innovation 팀에서부터 2023년 DeepMind의 Visualizing AI까지 변화에 변화를 거듭했습니다. 이번 발표에서는 디지털 환경의 초기 데이터 시각화에서 뉴럴 네트워크 시각화까지의 과정을 살펴봅니다.
연사 소개 민세희 님은 데이터 시각화를 시작으로 인공지능 시각화, 그리고 생성형 AI를 활용한 데이터 시각화 등 디지털 데이터를 통해 우리 자신과 사회를 객관적 시각으로 이해하는 디지털 환경에서의 리얼리즘을 추구하고 있습니다. MIT 센서블시티 연구원, TED 펠로우, 랜덤웍스 대표, 서강대 아트 & 테크놀로지 산학교수, 서울라이트 2019 총감독, Praxis.ai (www.prxs.ai)라는 인공지능기반 창작 툴을 개발, 그리고 제10대 경기콘텐츠진흥원장을 역임했습니다.
